Photo Booth Mode

Turn a tablet into an event photo booth.

Open Photo Booth in a compatible phone or tablet browser. Add a frame, count down together, and share your photo into the same Capture event gallery.

Start free

Open it in the browser

Join the event, open Camera, and choose Photo Booth. Use a compatible device and allow camera access.

Three seconds to strike a pose

The front-facing camera starts with a three-second countdown. Review your photo and retake it before posting.

Filters and frames

Try Film, Vintage, or B&W, with a Polaroid, hearts, stars, or party frame. Effects become part of the shared photo.

One gallery, your reveal

Booth photos join the event collection. The host’s approval and scheduled-reveal settings apply to them too.

How it works

From setup to shared memory.

01

Build the station

Place the tablet securely at a flattering height with steady light and a clear backdrop.

02

Open Photo Booth Mode

Join through the event QR code or link. Open Camera, choose Photo Booth, allow camera access, and try the countdown.

03

Review and share

Choose a filter and frame, take or retake your photo, then review it in the editor and tap Post. Check the upload status before leaving the station.

A booth without an isolated gallery

Traditional booths often deliver a separate download after the event. Capture keeps booth photos beside guest uploads, messages, and the rest of the event story, making the final collection easier to browse and export.

The station is also optional rather than exclusive. Guests can use the booth for deliberate group portraits and keep using the event QR code for candid photos everywhere else.

Simple setup makes better photos

Use a stable stand, a clean lens, soft front-facing light, and enough space for small groups. Avoid placing the booth directly in front of a window or in a narrow route used by catering staff.

Assign one person to check the tablet battery and framing during the event. A small prompt card with two or three pose ideas can help guests start without creating a long queue.

Test camera permission, front/back switching, and one complete upload on the exact device before guests arrive. If the browser cannot open the camera, use the device-camera fallback or select an existing photo.

Frequently asked questions

What do I need for a DIY tablet photo booth?

A supported tablet, stable stand, reliable power, flattering light, and a simple backdrop are the essentials. Props are optional.

Do guests need an app for Photo Booth?

No. Guests can open Photo Booth from Camera in a compatible browser after joining the event. Camera permission is required. Rehearse the device, stand, and lighting before the celebration.

Do booth photos go into the event gallery?

Yes. Review the photo and tap Post to add it to the same event collection. Upload status shows whether it is still queued, waiting for approval, or saved for the host’s scheduled reveal.

Can I change the look before posting?

Yes. Choose a photo filter and a frame, or leave either off. You can adjust them in the editor before posting, including on selected library photos. The saved photo contains the chosen effects; video filters are not included.

Does this replace a professional photo booth?

It can replace a basic self-serve booth when you value flexibility and one shared gallery. A staffed booth may still be preferable for specialist lighting, instant prints, or custom physical sets.

Can guests still upload from their own phones?

Yes. The booth and QR code guest uploads can run together throughout the event.
