WedUploader collects guest photos straight into the couple's own Google Drive: free for collection, and $49 once for the gallery, slideshow and guest book. Look at an alternative if you would rather not depend on a Google account and Drive storage. GUESTPIX and Wedibox are the closest one-time wedding galleries at $49, GuestCam adds an audio guest book, Kululu has a free plan with a live wall, and Capture suits a host who wants an iPhone app with upload approval and a scheduled reveal.

The Short Answer
The main difference is where the photos live. WedUploader writes every upload to a folder in your Google Drive with no expiry, so space and access depend on your Google account. The alternatives host the gallery themselves for a set period, from a few months to two years, and you download the collection before it ends. Weigh that trade-off first, then compare the guest book, live display and price.
What WedUploader does well
WedUploader is a collection tool built around Google Drive. The couple signs in with Google, connects Drive and names a folder, and every guest upload goes straight into that folder in its original quality. Its Basic level is free and sets no upload limit or expiry of its own.
The one-time Premium purchase, $49 in the US, adds a real-time gallery, a fullscreen slideshow, guest messages and voicemails, layouts and colors, a custom link and event managers. It covers every album on the account, so an engagement party and the wedding can share one purchase.
If you already keep everything in Google Drive and mainly want the files, that is a strong, inexpensive setup. The alternatives below are worth a look when one of the trade-offs in the next section matters to you.
Why couples look for an alternative
Everything runs through the host's Google account. Space comes from the Drive quota: WedUploader's FAQ points to Google's free 15 GB and to buying more storage from Google. The same FAQ says uploads fail with an error if WedUploader's permission to the Drive is removed.
The shared experience costs extra. The free level collects files; the gallery guests can browse, the slideshow, guest messages and voicemails need Premium or the individual add-ons.
The guest book is a message attached to an upload rather than a separate written or video guest book. WedUploader's site also warns that Google blocks host sign-in from in-app browsers, so hosts should open it in Safari or Chrome.
Alternatives with a one-time price
GUESTPIX is the closest like-for-like swap for a wedding: browser uploads that can be protected with a PIN, a written and video guest book, a live slideshow, more than 180 Canva templates and a digital invitation with RSVPs. Classic costs $49 with three months of uploads and twelve months of hosting.
Wedibox suits couples who want more of the wedding in one place: a wedding website, RSVP and seating alongside the gallery, a guest book with written, photo, video and voice messages, and a widget that embeds the gallery in an existing wedding website. Wedding costs $49 with six months of uploads and a year of storage.
GuestCam fits weddings that want voices or several languages: an audio guest book recorded in the browser, guest pages in 17 languages, and up to six galleries on Premium. Standard costs $49, and there is no free plan. Kululu is the one to try before paying: its free plan allows 100 uploads in a 24-hour window, and every plan includes a live photo wall. Plus costs $39; Pro at $99 adds moderation and a year of storage.
Where Capture fits
Capture is for a host who wants to run the event from an iPhone app while guests stay in the browser: they upload, browse, react and comment without an app or account. The host can approve uploads before they appear, show a live photo wall, or keep the gallery locked until a scheduled reveal.
Every upload is kept as the original file, and the host exports the collection as a ZIP or to the Photos app. Unlike WedUploader, the files live in Capture's gallery rather than in your Drive, so plan when you will export them.
Capture is a subscription rather than a one-time purchase: a 7-day free trial, then $9.99 a month or $69.99 a year with unlimited events. For a single wedding, compare the months you need for setup and late uploads with a one-time price.
How to choose
Decide where the archive should end up. If it must be your own Google Drive, WedUploader does that directly. With any hosted gallery, download the full collection before its storage period ends and keep a copy of your own.
Then price what you will actually use: the gallery, slideshow and guest book, an upload window long enough for late photos, and how long guests should be able to view the album.
Finally, rehearse the guest flow on an older phone: scan the QR code, upload a photo and a video, and check what a second guest can see.
What This Means for You
- Stay with WedUploader's free Basic level if collecting originals into your own Drive is all you need.
- Choose GUESTPIX or Wedibox for a hosted wedding gallery at a one-time price, GuestCam for an audio guest book, Kululu to start free, or Capture for an iPhone host app with approval and a scheduled reveal.
- Whichever you choose, download and back up the full collection soon after the wedding.
